For the first time on World Cup Football, technology will be used in Brazil to determine whether a ball crosses the goal line during the each and every matches. With the help of this new technology, FIFA will try to over come all the arguments about goal line incidents.
A German company named GoalControl developed a new system for FIFA World Cup Brazil. The system uses 14 cameras seven trained on each goalmouth - that will be mounted on the roof of the stadium and all these cameras can capture three-dimensional position of the ball with high precision. When the ball passes the goal line, a vibration and optical signal will be send immediately, indicating that a goal was scored.
"Our main feeling is anticipation,'' Dirk Broichhausen, managing director of GoalControl, told The Associated Press. ''The technology is mature and we are absolutely convinced of the system's reliability. The World Cup is the biggest chance to showcase in football - it will put goal-line technology worldwide in the center of interest.''
Till now several incidents had happened in world cup football because of goal line. This type of incident also happened in last world cup too, in a match between England and Germany.
England midfielder Frank Lampard had a clear goal disallowed because officials failed to see that the ball had bounced down off the bar and well over the line. Hope this new technology will make 2014 World Cup Football more exciting.
