Out of 2.56 million tickets, Brazilians have bought more than one million tickets for the June 12-July 13 mega Football tournament. Next are the US fans who have bought almost 154,000 tickets, followed by Australia (40,000), England (38,000) and Colombia (33,000), FIFA said in a recent report.
In another report FIFA says, the World Cup football in Brazil is the most successful tournament in terms of ticket requests. The current sales period to be end at April 1. The next and final sales phase opens on April 15.
All the tickets were available on a first-come, first-serve basis and the great thing is that the tickets for most of the matches were sold out in less than three hours. Tickets for all Brazil matches were sold in less than an hour, which is also a record.
Out of all the matches Greece-Ivory Coast match in the northeastern city of Fortaleza is the least popular match so far, as per the numbers on FIFA’s ticketing website on Saturday. Tickets for the opening match between Brazil and Croatia, the final and the semifinals were not on sale.
