Roy Hodgson named in England's World Cup squad

England manager Roy Hodgson reveals his final 23-man England squad for the World Cup. One big issue has already been resolved- Ashley Cole will not play 2014 World Cup Football. Out of 23 man squad Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, 19 and Everton's Ross Barkley, 20, the most eye-catching inclusions for Brazil world cup.

There are no places for the veterans Jermaine Defoe and Michael Carrick although both were included on the stand-by list of 7 players. Hodgson selected each and every player very carefully. And he believes each and every has the ability to carry the nation's dreams and hopes of winning the FIFA World Cup in Brazil next month.

Steven Gerrard will lead England team. They will play their first world cup match against Italy on June 14 followed by games against Uruguay on June 19 and Costa Rica on June 24. Gerrard will be joined by teammates Glen Johnson, Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling, who hope to put Liverpool's attacking stamp on the mega tounament.
