Mexico coach Miguel Herrera, reveals 23-man squad for FIFA World Cup which will begin from 12 June, 2014. Unlike other nations Miguel Herrera decided to skip naming a 30 player-preliminary squad.
Mexico is in Group A at the FIFA World Cup and they will face Cameroon in Natal on June 13 in their opening match, then they will face hosts Brazil in Fortaleza on June 17 and then squaring up against Croatia in Recife on June 23.
Although Mexico currently ranked 19th in the world, they have lots of chance to reach the knock out stage. Coach Herrera has also confirmed it that Mexico will play "determined" football in Brazil.
There are some big surprise in Herrera’s list. One of them is Tigres defender Carlos Salcido who did not participate in any of the matches that Miguel Herrera has managed up until now, as well as the exclusion of Club America goalkeeper Moises Munoz who looked poised to be the third choice keeper.
Rafael Marquez will play the role of captain for Maxico in Brazil world cup. The 35-year-old defender has made well over 100 appearances for El Tri since 1997 and brings leadership and experience to the lineup.
